School Vision

Community

Parents and community members play a vital role in the education of our students. They are encouraged to participate in activities at the school and to use the school for community purposes. All of us, staff, students, parents and community members have a sense of ownership and pride in the school.

An Inclusive Culture

Fletcher's Meadow serves all students in a safe and supportive environment. There are no barriers to student success and achievement. The staff support students in their academic, social and emotional development. All staff share the responsibility for the education and well-being of all students.

Creative Learning Choices

We offer an integrated approach to learning, with an emphasis on thematic, relevant, cross curricular initiatives. The program is designed to accommodate the differentiated learning styles of individual students. A wide variety of assessment strategies are used, with a particular stress on project-based, authentic assessments. Students are offered a variety of ways to achieve academic success, including alternatives such as on-line learning. We utilize our partnerships to assist our students in making wise choices and a smooth transition to their post secondary destinations.

Resources

Fletcher's Meadow has an outstanding, enthusiastic and dedicated professional staff each with a high degree of expertise. The staff work in a collaborative manner to create diverse learning opportunities for all students. Each member of the staff is an instructional leader, and leadership roles (heads, cross curricular teams leaders, committee chairs...) are distributed among the staff. We have a well equipped state of the art building. These resources, human and material, are here to meet the needs of our community of learners.

Relationships

At Fletcher's Meadow we work in an atmosphere of mutual respect. We are committed to the well-being and success of all our students and staff. We create opportunities for our students and staff to demonstrate success and to show what they are able to achieve.

Technology

The wide array of technologies support teaching and learning for the 21st century and broadens the opportunities for alternative and individualized programs.

Partnerships

At Fletcher's Meadow our partners are our feeder schools, and we are dedicated to facilitating a smooth transition from the middle to the secondary school. Our partners are the post secondary institutions and work places that will receive our graduates. Our partners are our parents, our community and our professional colleagues.
